Connor Wickham has joined Npower Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on loan.
The 19-year-old striker will remain at Hillsborough until March 9.
Dave Jones' side lie 18thin the second tier, having banked 30 points from 35 games so far.
Wickham, who joined Sunderland from Ipswich Town in summer 2011, has made 28 appearances for the Black Cats, scoring two goals.
