Sunderland AFC has confirmed that Louis Saha has now left the club.

The 34-year-old striker's contract with the Black Cats was ended by mutual consent.

The former French international made two starts and a total of 14 appearances in league and cup since joining the club last summer.

Sunderland AFC chief executive Margaret Byrne said: "We wish Louis all the very best for the future and thank him for his contribution to Sunderland."
