Sunderland midfielder Adam Reed has joined Portsmouth on loan.
Reed's loan spell will begin this Saturday and he will remain at Fratton Park for a month.
The Academy product, who is captain of the Black Cats' under-21 side, joins a Pompey outfit fighting against relegation from Npower League One.
Reed, 21, has previously spent time on loan at Brentford, Bradford City and Leyton Orient.
He made a combined total of 15 appearances for Bradford and Orient last season.
Pompey's caretaker manager, Guy Whittingham, told the club's official website: "Adam comes highly recommended by Kevin Ball, has played at this level before and will bring us plenty of energy."
