Louis Saha says he can't wait to pull on a Sunderland shirt and help his new club get their Premier League season off to a flying start.
The French international moved to the Stadium of Light on a free transfer after leaving Tottenham at the end of last season, but has been working hard to maintain his fitness over the summer.
He has been putting in the hard yards at a private training camp and has declared himself available for selection against Arsenal.
And Saha says he's relishing the opportunity to help the Black Cats hit the ground running at the Emirates Stadium.
"I've been working really hard [over the summer]," he said. "I've been at a camp for professional footballers, I'm not far from fitness and would love to be involved this weekend if possible and if the manager picks me.
"It's nice to be back in the Premier League - I really enjoy it and I'm going to show that.
"Arsenal will be a tough game but everyone is excited. I think all the players have been working hard in pre-season and it's a great game to start with. If you start well it's a big boost for the rest of the season, so let's see."
